The GEODE Consortium
GEODE is a first-of-its-kind collaboration led by Project InnerSpace and The Society of Petroleum Engineers, and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Why Geothermal Energy?
Geothermal heat is naturally produced beneath Earth’s surface and has the potential to provide a significant portion of the nation's energy needs.
- 01
Renewable
Geothermal energy production taps Earth's natural heat, providing a reliable, renewable energy source.
- 02
Domestic
Geothermal energy production decreases dependence on imported resources while strengthening energy security.
- 03
Resilient
Geothermal energy is always-on, baseload energy and can produce electricity and thermal energy continuously regardless of weather conditions.
- 04
Everywhere
Geothermal energy can be used in communities across the world, even in places where the grid can’t reach.
